Android One goes to Europe

Android One goes to Europe

Android One, which aims to create low-cost smartphones specifically for emerging markets, has already debuted in Asia and Africa, and now it’s time for Europe. Google has just announced that Portugal and Spain will be the first countries in the Old Continent to feature smartphones created within the program.

The first Android One product to be available is the BQ Aquaris A4 5 model, featuring 4G connectivity and dual SIM support. The device features a 4.5-inch 540 x 960 pixel screen, which is protected against scratches by Dragontrail glass.

The heart of the phone is a quad-core 1 GHz processor that works with 1 GB of RAM and 16 GB of flash memory, which can be expanded with a microSD card of up to 64 GB. The device also has an 8 megapixel rear camera and 5 megapixels front while the power supply delivers a 2470 mAh battery. Smartphone works on Android 5.1.1.

Surprisingly, the price of BQ Aquaris A4 5 does not fall into the low, though assumptions of Android One are designed to make these products available to the maximum. In Spain this model costs 169.90 euros, while Portugal will be 10 euros more expensive.…

Russians tighten their penalties for using bitcoins

Russians tighten their penalties for using bitcoins

Since the Silk Road underground bazaar was closed, the role of Bitcoins in the global financial system has been severely limited. Although there are companies that accept such payments, there are fewer and fewer. And now, if we try to pay them in Russia, we will be punished by imprisonment.

As the Interfax agency reports, the Russian finance ministry is preparing changes to the law that significantly tighten penalties for using a digital cryptanalyst such as Bitcoins.

Breaking the ban will be a serious consequence, and in the worst case, you can go to jail for up to four years. It concerns ordinary citizens, because the penalties for bankers and financial services managers related to the cryptanalyst turnover are even higher and amount to as many as seven years imprisonment. In addition, directors who break new regulations will not be able to occupy similar posts in the future.

There are also fines ranging from 500,000 to one million rubles for ordinary citizens and 2.5 million rubles for bank directors.

Previous legislation related to the cryptanalysts in force in Russia was much milder. For its use, one could get a year of social work, while in the case of participating in organized groups dealing with the Bitcoin trade, it was possible to go to jail for two years.…

Without success in india

Without success in india

The latest Android One mobile platform, created specifically to support budget smartphones, has been a total failure. Google plans to introduce it to the Indian market where cheap phones are popular, but local stores have refused to sell new products.

This summer, Google unveiled its new Android One platform. It was an initiative to launch ultra-low-cost smartphones that did not enjoy performance and had a shutdown specification, but the US giants guaranteed regular software updates.

The platform was primarily designed for developing markets, primarily India, where cheap devices are selling the best. Unfortunately, due to the fact that the Indian market is dominated primarily by cheap smartphones from China, which are not limited in any way, Google’s plan has come to an end.

Most big sellers have refused to distribute hardware from Android One. A total of around 1800 stores rejected the company’s offer and did not offer any of the three models on the platform, manufactured by Micromax, Karbonn and Spice and costing around $ 100.

The reason for the failure was probably the sales strategy, initially distributing these devices mainly via the internet, such as Flipkart, Amazon and Snapdeal.

This would be said by Subhash Chandra, a spokesman for Sangeethha Mobiles MD, who explained to the media that if the Android One platform had decided not to sell hardware through traditional stores, his company would not introduce it to its offerings.

In turn, the head of another network of electronic stores said that the interest in these devices was very low, so it was decided that their further distribution does not make sense. Similarly, two other MobileStore and UniverCell networks, which started selling only Karbonn’s devices two weeks ago, are not planning to expand their offerings yet.

The reason for the reluctance to shop for Android One products may also be low margins, which amount to only 3-4 percent. By comparison, the average industry margin is around 91 percent, so it’s no wonder retailers do not want to be involved in distributing products that give them such a small profit.

So far, 480,000 devices have been shipped to India on the Android One platform, which represents roughly 3 percent of all smartphone imports that have been shipped since mid-September. Unfortunately, Android One has to face very …

SpaceX expands the spaceport

SpaceX expands the spaceport

The private SpaceX consortium managed by Elmo Musk plans to build a rocket repair complex. A space workshop will be built at the company’s spaceport, where engineers will be preparing missions for Falcon 9 missions.

SpaceX is one of two private consortiums that has been able to build a reusable rocket that can launch and land alone after a mission. What’s more, the rocket not only lands on the ground, but it can also do on the water, and specifically on the specially prepared floating platform.

Reusable rockets also require maintenance and repairs. That is why the company wants to build a special workshop at Cape Canaveral that will take care of preparing them for further flights, as well as overhaul Falcon 9 missiles to orbit them. SpaceX is planning to rent a 4800 square meter building previously used by Astrotech Corporation.…

First photos of the HTC One M9

HTC has for some time been working on the successor of the current flagship smartphone model, the One M8. So far, we were only able to see the technical specifications of the new device, and now we have the opportunity to see what it looks like, because the first pictures of the device appeared in the network.

Posted by Phoneandroid and although there is not much to see, the general look of the device seems to resemble the One M8. Some change is to move the buttons to turn the phone on from the top to the right, which may be welcomed by users of the previous model who have complained about the current position of the switch. The volume controls on the right edge were slightly lowered.

Keep in mind, there is no need to be the final version of the smartphone, but some earlier prototype.

As far as technical specs are concerned, the HTC One M9 can expect an 8-core processor (probably the Snapdragon 810 with Adreno 430), 3GB of RAM, a 5-inch Full HD screen, a 20.7-megapixel rear-facing camera, and an UltraPixel front . The power supply will provide a 2840 mAh battery and the operating system will be Android 5.0 Lollipop with a Sense 7.0 overlay.…
